Orhan Kahveci, the General Manager of Teknopanel says: ‘The recession in the activity of manufacturing around Europe due to the pandemic has affected the sectoral manufacturer positively in Turkey. As Teknopanel, we grew by 40% through gaining speed above the average sectoral growth in this process.’
Founded in Mersin in 2005, Teknopanel continues to manufacture sandwich panel and EPS products in the construction products sector and also carries out sales and marketing of the products nationally and internationally, with its manufacturing facilities in Mersin, Sakarya, İzmir and İstanbul around an area of 123 m2 in total, which rank in the most modern manufacturing facilities of Europe.
Teknopanel General Manager Orhan Kahveci: ‘We add value to the economy and export of our country with our 480 employees and four production facilities located in the most strategical regions of Turkey. Following the first exportation to Iraq in 2007, we now make the scene in 95 countries on the continents of Europe, Asia, Africa, North and South America with our industry expert team and strong network of dealers that we have in the global market, and we take place near the top among the favored brands.’
Stating that they have continued non-stop manufacturing thanks to the high level measures they have taken against COVID-19 during the pandemic, General Manager Kahveci says: ‘Even though the slowbalization in manufacturing and supply chain in this global crisis, we have managed to meet the needs of our customers instantly and uninterruptedly. In 2020, we achieved a phenomenal record in our domestic and overseas sales in terms of quantity and endorsement. We have gained a significant growth speed through reaching a production of 8 million 700 thousand m2 in sandwich panel products and 1 million m3 in EPS products. As in previous years, we have broken our own record in export again and increased our endorsement to 25 million 235 thousand dollars.’
Expressing that the recession in the production experienced in Europe during the pandemic had a positive impact on the activities of sectoral manufacturers in Turkey, Kahveci said: ‘There has been a significant improvement in our sector during the pandemic in general. Turkish manufacturers are preferred for international sales by the fact that Turkey serves as a bridge between Asia and Europe in terms of export; has a low labor cost in general; follows-up technology closely and makes improvements continuously; and is open to innovation. As Teknopanel, we grew by 40% through gaining speed above the average sectoral growth in this process. I can express that the most important indicator of our success is that we have been the only company of the sector to take place in the list of “Top 500 Largest Industrial Enterprises” which is announced by ISO annually and that we climbed up to the 121st rank by comparison to the previous year and have been leading the way for 7 years consecutively.’
Noting that Teknopanel, having a flexible production nature by being open to innovation and change, develops new products at its R&D center towards the needs of its customers and that the company increases its market share with the help of its teams who are highly knowledgeable, qualified and efficient in their areas, Kahveci said: ‘The most important factor for our brand to be preferred is that we can respond to the market needs thanks to our product range. Another important factor can be the location of our manufacturing facilities. We can easily reach s substantial part of our export deliveries to Middle East from our Mersin factory and to the Turkic Republics and Balkans from our Sakarya factory.’
Kahveci concluded his sentences as follows: ‘we reached our goals in 2020 and now we aim to keep this growth of 40%, which we have achieved in the first half of 2021, until the end of the year. We also plan to establish a new facility abroad very soon in order to increase our successful growth trend. We take firm steps toward growth by incorporating new service points from the east to the west, from the north to the south. We continue to work non-stop to carry the flag of Teknopanel as a Turkish brand around the world and to contribute the Turkish economy.’
